Shedding Away the Winter Holiday Pounds

As the winters cold weather dwindles away, the sun begins to shine a little more each and every day. This is the time of year that women look in the mirror and have bathing suit anxiety, wondering what that little bathing suit is going to look like after the winter holiday season. We have had such a long wonderful winter filled with tons of gourmet foods, fresh baked sweets, and other treats, that have some how ended up on our hips, thighs, butt, and in other places we still can’t believe.

Instead of going into panic mode, there are some simple solutions to shedding some of those extra winter pounds.

Rather than trying to hit the gym two times a day, take a look at what you are putting in your mouth. It shouldn’t be a surprise that what you eat becomes a part of you.

Some tips to help you loose some of those extra winter pounds.

There are some foods that are better than others when trying to loose weight.

The Grapefruit, which is now in season, is a natural fruit filled with vitamins and is an appetite suppressant. This is a great choice to have for breakfast or to incorporate with any meal.

Include whole grains, vegetables, and beans into your diet.

Eat frequent small meals instead of few large ones.
One weakness many women have is snacking, but there is a solution to this. Instead of eating a sugary granola bar which can disguise itself as healthy, substitute with raw vegetables or an apple. For those of you who are meat lovers, protein can be beneficial to a diet because they will keep you full for a longer period of time.

*Water, water, and more water. Keeping yourself hydrated is extremely important for your health, body, and skin. If you are not used to drinking water, you may become bloated for the first few days and retain water, but it is crucial to drink at least 8 cups of water daily (8 ounces in each glass).

These tips will give you incentive to move away from the mirror and not worry about putting on that little bathing suit. With a combination of exercise and eating right you can loose those winter pounds that are keeping you from being out at the beach relaxing! Good Luck ladies, and happy losing!
