Every parent is concerned about the safety of their child when it comes to their first driving experience.

It's always a good idea to establish some ground rules. Drill the rules into their little heads and then make them sign a contract!

First and foremost, it should be very clear to your child that driving is a privilege and not a right. It should also be reiterated that education is a priority and if grades are not up to expectation, driving privileges will be suspended.

After laying down the ground rules, you should proceed and write your contract covering all the important points; like wearing a seat belt, never consuming alcohol, paying attention at all times, etc.

Don’t forget to have your child sign the contract and post it where he or she can see it on a daily basis.

This might not give you the peace of mind you were looking for, but it will be another reminder for your child to stay safe.
