Hi everyone!
I had an interesting experience. The newspaper that I write health and fitness articles asked me to be the subject of a “recipe of the week” video for the website. The recipe and pictures will run in the print edition.
They’ve actually run this recipe before, but the food editor and I have been playing tag about our love for food since last year (prior to being hired) when I won the “quiz of the week“. I won a book on gourmet hot chocolate recipes. Beautiful book. But since we are a dairy free house, many of the recipes don’t translate well with the soy milk. It’s not the soy milk, it’s the rest of the ingredients! White chocolate, for example, no way to substitute that.
It was fun. The photographer came and took well over 100 pictures of me making my special hard dunking treat. Finishing up with my making an audiotape to go with all the pictures. I sent him home with about half of what I made and a copy of the ingredients for his wife.
Turns out, he went to Hollywood High with my husband! We decided that since he and his wife live 10 minutes away, we‘re all foodies and the guys knew of each other, we’d arrange for a double date.
And that’s what’s so great about food-besides filling the stomach and soul, it makes the world a lot warmer and friendlier.
Wednesday-I give you all the special recipe.
So you had a photo shoot in your own kitchen? How exciting did you feel? It is strange how people cross paths in this world.
Please do share your photos when they are released, along with the recipe.
Hi angie-it was fun and the recipe will be in Wednesday’s column! the photographer went to the same HS as my hubby! Just shows how small our world really is!
