Im the daughter of a retired Galveston Police officer, the police officers I know are overworked and stressed from Hurricane Ike and I was told young and untrained. Its a reason not an excuse for what happened.
They used deadly force almost beating to death my cousins son who was life flighted to ICU / Nuero ward and arrested. Brandon Backe a baseball player for Houston, was a HERO.. for speaking up at the injustice and was beaten severely after being cuffed for interference … by speaking up and arrested.
Wedding guests that also spoke up were tazered beaten, cuffed, arrested.
Below is my cousin being tazered twice, maced or pepper sprayed, beaten, cuffed and arrested outside the hotel for just asking what had happened to his son.

I sure hope that good lawyers have been retained. It sounds aweful. I hope they all lose their badges and have to publicly apologize to everyone involved.
This is a sad example of the corruption that I have mentioned in other posts.
Incidents like these make my blood boil. Officers think they are above the law… and it is because they are protected even after things like this happen.

I’m so sorry. Please tell me your cousin’s son is healing from the terrible beating? I can’t imagine why this isn’t front and center with the media. They always pounce on stories such as this to show how we need to monitor our police and train them to be compassionate in their jobs. All too often young men and women join the force so they can carry a badge and legally use their guns. In my lifetime I’ve had some friends who I have shaken my head when they were sworn into become cops. I am also looking for the movie about you as I am a truTV junkie. When I was younger I wanted to be a forensic pathologist but my mom and guidance counselor talked me out of it saying I might not make it because I had ADHD and could not concentrate or stay focused and barely made it through High School. My mom did not allow them to give me any drugs because of her faith. So I graduated and attended college only to drop out of that when I became pregnant with my son. I’m going back to school this spring just so I can finally say I got my BS.
Hi Warrior Princess thanks so much my cousin and his son are doing better, so is Brandon Backe (famous baseball player), they did nothing deserving of being beaten, tazered, cuffed and arrested. Its moritfying.
