Ode to a 40+ Rusty, Old Ballet Dancer (Young at Heart)

rss feed 48goingon10's blog feed

I moved in October, and just now (November) got my home dance studio finally organized. These pictures were taken in the studio the week of Nov. 17th and the week of Nov. 24th.

This Thanksgiving was particularly difficult because it was the first without mama (she died in February). I felt very lost that day and tried to keep a cheery face. The day wasn’t as bad as I feared it would be, and when I got home I wanted to dance.

[The black and white pictures on the bottom of the thread, were taken when I got home from celebrating Thanksgiving].

An Ode to Dance – Giving Thanks

Although I feel old and rusty as a dancer most of the time, dancing brings me great joy.
When I dance I am free from outside worries.
When I dance my heart soars and I feel young again.
When I dance I feel like I can fly.
When I dance I forget my pain.
When I dance I almost feel beautiful.
When I dance I feel happy and at peace.
When I dance I am one with my inner child (who is 10 years old)tongue out

I hope my pictures bring you a smile, and inspire you to go dance ! estatic

NOTE: The black device in my hand is the remote for the timer on my camera (most of my pictures are taken on self-timer)
