Skin Discolorations

rss feed okie's blog feed

I have a brown area on my chest, where my shirt buttons up to, that is darker than the rest of my skin.   It looks like it is either dirty, which it is not or tanned just in that area.  I have tried everything I can think of to get this area to look like the rest of my skin.  nothing seems to work.  Any suggestions?  I am going on a cruise in November & would love to wear a lownecked dress, but I don’t like the way it looks.  Help!!!

    • I have seen these brown spots before and the doctor insists it is from birth control!! (or the sun, depending on the color).

Anyways, back to your question, if make-up does not do the trick, you can cover it up with jewelry ( a pendant), or even a chain distracts the appearance of spots.

If you are swimming or on the beach/pool, don’t worry about trying to conceal it, just relax and enjoy your time!

    • Look up Melasma.  That is what it is called.  I was cutting this girls hair and she had some of the spots on both sides of her jawline.  I thought to myself “how wierd is that?”  The next morning as I was putting on my makeup, I noticed what I thought was a dirt smudge….Oh my Gosh, the same types of spots she had.  I looked them up.
      Melasma.
