I am now fabulous at 51 years old! I spent 15 years in the Navy as a Broadcast Journalist and Public Relations Specialist, and the next 20 years raising my family of five children. I have published many short stories…some in “Guideposts“, “Focus On The Family” and local papers I went back to college after 16 years of raising my children and recently graduated with a degree in Communications. I am presently writing a book on MidLifeCrisis, while mentoring others on Path Partners, a web site dedicated to those dealing with women in MLC. I am a member of the National Speakers Association Virginia and will hopefully be able to join the National group by the end of 2008. I am also an Independent Distributor of MonaVie, a wellness drink made from acai berry. if you would like to know more, please feel free to contact me.
My second adulthood will be the best days of my life!!!My blog:
Yay!!!! Authors everywhere! I never intended to write a book but I had 59,632 words to say and no one would sit still long enough to hear them all..so… I wrote a book.
Ladies, what has been your experience with the National Speakers association and did you self-publish or have an agent?
I am just getting this off the ground and I am planning on taking this topic (teen dating relationships) to schools, churches, libraries. Any marketing ideas would be greatly appreciated. I may even start a convo about that???
Also, would love to know more about the acai berry and if it is really working. Where is that podcast that was mentioned? I’ll have to check it out.
BTW – The book is called “Dater’s Ed: The Instruction Manual for Parents”

I want to thank you for our podcast last week. I went to the stumbleupon website and joined. I’ve been enjoying it ever since. I’ve gathered great ideas and had an opportunity to see websites I wouldn’t have otherwise been able to find. Now I’m getting ready to put together my own blog/webpage/e-commerce avenue to sell my chocolates online. Your podcast was the springboard for that! Thank you very much.

My book is titled: Whose Face is in the Mirror? and Hay House is my publisher (Louise Hay’s company). It was published in 2000 but the crazy thing is it’s still selling and listed as the top 100 bestsellers on abuse! What a kick in the pants. I was an author before I was a writer but then, I’ve always done things backward.
Your children are absolutely beautiful. I’m sure you have to beat the boys away. Your son must feel like one lucky boy.
I just have to comment on how beautiful you are! You make 51 look wonderful!
I did belong to TN Speaker Association before my husband moved me (again!). Because I’m an author of a book on domestic violence, I find that I do a ton of speaking without the association.
My real job is an esthetician and I’m a skin freak!
Hi! Thanks for your comment. I would love to connect – although I won’t be a the convention. This year my schedule doesn’t allow it – and I’m disapointed – first one I’ve missed in years….......
Next year in Arizona though.
Thanks so much for your inspirational words. I am trying it is a lot of work but it will be the best decsion I have ever made in my life and I hope to inspire others to do the same. Any advise on how to increase my traffic on my blog would be greatly appreciated. I look forward to talking with you more.
