I just finished Getting Unstuck: Breaking Your Habitual Patterns & Encountering Naked Reality by Pema Chodron. Great book a friend thought I’d like it and I did. I listened to this one and Pema’s voice sounds like a friends! Her laugh is one that made me feel warm. I did not understand everything but, I felt those parts weren’t meant for me right then.
Oh yes, and now I am reading Chanda’s Secrets by Allan Stratton. I am almost done and this story is wonderfully haunting story of Chanda who is 16. She is a strong female character and one we would be happy to have in our own family. Her father ha passed and she is left to deal with the unspoken disease of AIDS in her homeland. People are dying all around her but, no one will talk about it. I had the privilege of being in touch with a young man in Africa and heard many stories about this nasty disease and how it grips underprivileged areas. It makes me sad!
