  • Wouldn't it be great to say how we want our taxes spent??

      I wish I could choose how my taxes are spent. It would be great. My problem with paying taxes is that I don’t support many of the programs my taxes are funding.

      If at tax time, I was given a list of items and asked to select 3–5 where my money should be spent, it would be much better.

      It’s kind of like continually voting for different programs. If no one see the value in funding certain programs, they shouldn’t exist, right?

      The decision making power should be with the people of the country, and this is a great way to do it.

        • I absolutely agree with you Annie!!!  That is the best idea I’ve heard in a while.  Sure you don’t want to run for President???  LOL  I could easily write you in….....

          I’m sick of supporting lazy people who think they are entitled to free money…and they don’t want to work.  

          I’m sick of supporting illegal and legal aliens.  My social security that I pay every time I get paid…should go to ME…just as it should for others who pay into it and are citizens of this country…(but not until they are truly disabled or retired)...and not someone who is in this country illegally or is not a citizen of this country.  Furthermore…why in the heck are they getting it anyway?????  If things are that bad over here…then go back where you came from.  But I should not have to support you.

          WE have way too many “free” programs out there.  I rather help pay for you to go to school so you can get a job and support yourself.  I mean why do I have to help you get an education?  Work ethics…needs to be taught in the school…and at home.  Sadly….kids are not getting any of it at HOME.  

          And I say…forget property taxes….up the sales tax…and that way…EVERYBODY PAYS…not just the people who own their own home…or property. All the people living in apartments or rental property…get to join the rest of us and pay into the system.
